This illustrated playing card deck features a variety of bird species with an educational fun fact on every card. This project was formed from a poster project that explored biases and challenged the phrase “birds of a feather flock together” to make it be about diversity and inclusion. In the card deck this was demonstrated by introducing a new game that reverses “Old Maid”. The most important part of illustrating the cards was to make sure that all of the birds were cohesive and styled the same, even when the bird species were totally different. Another challenging part was making sure the poster was brought into the style and branding of these cards.
